C2PA Content Credentials for Verified Inspection Media

Cryptographically signed provenance for every photo and video.

The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) is the open technical standard for media provenance, backed by Adobe, Microsoft, Intel, BBC, and the Linux Foundation. In an era of AI-generated and manipulated media, C2PA gives inspection reports something no screenshot can fake: a signed, verifiable history of every asset.

What Gets Embedded at Capture

Each photo and video captured through VIP receives a signed C2PA manifest at the moment of capture:

  • Capture device attestation (hardware and OS)

  • Trusted timestamp from an independent time source

  • GPS coordinates with accuracy metadata

  • User identity and organization

  • Full edit history — any downstream modification is provable

Why C2PA Beats EXIF

EXIF metadata can be stripped, edited, or forged by anyone with a text editor. C2PA manifests are cryptographically signed by trusted issuers — tampering breaks the signature and is immediately detectable by any C2PA-aware verifier, browser, or media player.

Verifying a VIP Capture

Any inspection report or media file exported from VIP can be independently verified at contentcredentials.org or with any C2PA-compliant tool — no VIP account required. Recipients can prove authenticity without trusting us.

Frequently asked

What if a photo is edited after capture?

The C2PA manifest records every edit as a new signed step. Recipients see the complete lineage — not just the final image.

Does C2PA work offline?

Yes. Signing happens on-device at capture. The manifest is anchored to trusted time sources as soon as connectivity returns.
